My point when i listed other ccg games is that now players have an alternative, and some will take it, which is why Hearthstone needs to step up or bleed players to its competition.

This is something a lot of people cluelessly say about Blizzards games. I do see you point, But going around these games store pages, All I can see is people complaining about how:.

It actually confused me to the point I thought: What the hell is the point. Can it ultimately compete with such a beast as Hearthstone?

The answer is: Probably not. This means that it will get very boring very soon for most new players. Another question is: Will Gwent become competitive on the eSports field?

The answer is the same: Probably not. What do you think about Gwent? Do you like it more than Hearthstone or less? Leave your feedback in the comments below.

If you continue to use this site we will assume that you are happy with it. Honestly I don't think they know how to solve the 'common' problem they've created for themselves.

If they change all the bronzes to the same rarity, then kegs suddenly swing wildly in value. The OP has already set the deck value at ceiling, since he assumes all bronzes are rares.

There can be no further cost creep, unless the rules change. I've said this before, commons in Gwent only really exist as a rarity to make rare cards rare.

You can craft one every keg you get, and so adding any extra common to the set only delays that common being a keg pull you've already got by 3 kegs.

Rares outnumbered commons before the patch. Now it's just silly. It lessens the overall value of kegs by having the rarities so skewed.

Commons also exist as quickly crafted cards for newbies. So yeah as a rarity that's all they're for and for any ccg with random packs all they'll mainly be but as building blocks for a newbie experience they're invaluable.

Yes, well that is a rule change. In HS you can have an all legendary deck, which would be very expensive. How does 1 week of grinding get you at least 3 specific golds being generous since RD is basic and used quite a bit and 5 specific silvers same as gold but with Horn?

That was enough to get me casino dwarfs. Then climbing with dwarves got me enough for witcher alchemy.

That's where I'm at now :. Edit: I only disenchanted like 2 or 3 starting golds. Probably not great long term, but I wanted a good deck fast.

Made it easy to climb and get more. He wasn't me, who made the original claim. But if you look above I explained how I did indeed make my deck in a week.

I'll point out that I did buy the starting pack, but I probably got more free kegs than I got through that pack anyways. I don't think that's a really good idea, considering as a new player you don't really need to upgrade your deck to tier 1 ASAP.

When I first started playing I incrementally upgraded my frost Eredin budget deck and did just fine with it in ranked until rank And now that there are daily quests requiring you to win with specific factions scrapping everything is just handicapping yourself in both deckbuilding and completing said quests.

I don't really care for the additional income from quests because at my current state I have the cards monsters and tons of left over scrap.

The earning cards part is over and now I'm just working to grind out ranked games. Handicapping myself with "budget" decks is against my interests.

This is because legendaries are rare but provide a lot of dust, which skews the average upwards. I'm not as familiar with Gwent's scrap averages, but this suggests that the average scrap is closer to 80 instead of your assumption of Nice writeup overall though, and this doesn't change your conclusion that HS is expensive as hell.

I think it's even more than 80 scraps. I think people tend to think hearthstone is more casual friendly but it is a bit more precise than that, hearthone is made for "casual" whales, the game is so damn expensive it's actually dumb I quit hearthstone after a couple of years of playing it almost every day, and have loved gwent for the time i've played it, some patches i liked more than others and honestly feel this patch has been 2 steps foward and 3 steps back for the first time.

That being said i still think CDPR is one of the better game companies out there and we should just endure untill the next patch hits.

HS feels worse now because the decks costs more dust. Gwent 'can't really do the same thing because of the deck building restrictions. It seems to me that CDPR is moving to a 3 tier system overall - so this community is going to be angry when they eliminate commons.

But, that is why I assumed all rares for the bronzes. Everyone would LOVE it if they did that, because then you'd get 5 rares per pack.

CDPR is the one who won't move to the 3 tier system because I imagine it would be too generous of a system to be financially sustainable.

You are right. Isn't that kind of how it works now anyway? You quickly acquire every single common, and all the new cards are rares. So the commons are almost immediately 'undesireable' and the 'good' cards new are rare.

My guess is this is only for a basic set of cards that is beeing fleshed out. When more expansions come in the future there will be more common cards.

They just released over a hundred new cards and only TWO were commons. It was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to significantly alter the rarity distribution, and they didn't.

It would take them years of their planned expansions to even get the amount of commons to EQUAL the amount of rares, let alone actually be more common.

Maybe it's to make the basic set more expensive, possibly Thronebreaker which many people will buy and get all cards from will include loads of commons.

You'll feel better. Great write-up, i've started seeing some people complain about the cost of gwent latetly because of the low ammount of commons which is fair and deserving criticism for CDPR but to say that gwent is adopting a model that is more unfair than HS's is just baffling to me, again, i agree that there are way too many rares for the ammount of commons there are but we cant forget how many filler cards HS has, and just how damn slow you get dust I think it is fair to say that anyone playing both views Gwent as the 'cheaper' option - but the difference still kinda shocked me.

The results speak for themselves, honestly your post was needed and i thank you for the time you spent making it, you don't have to say "unfair" or draw a conclusion but you can speak freely, seems like the only game people like to bash more than gwent in this sub is Nobody's said that.

Just the fair and deserving criticism of their 'common' distribution, among other things. Gwent and Hearthstone have an ocean of difference between them, in many ways.

Some good, some bad. I am fairly sure there is a PR battle going on. The CCG thing is a big deal, and cutting into the market share is likely to catch some flack from a number of people, but primarily for PR firms that are promoting HS and they are, and if you don't think so, you're naive.

Tl;dr a good portion of the 'silly' criticisms that you hear are pay-for-complaints by shills. Want to add that for full collection in Gwent now you need around the same amount of money as in vanilla HS.

I was trying to compare time played to craft a good deck for both games. Vast majority of players in both games do not care about a complete collection - but they do focus on the decks they can play.

Right now there is a post on the front of Hearthstone about a streamer spending 15 pound, not getting enough dust for half a Legendary.

That comparison is flawed though, for example it doesn't include the end of season rewards in gwent and HS, which is a pretty big deal.

The article was written before Gwent daily quests were introduced. So I think this makes Gwent not have as high highs in terms of entertainment, but not nearly as low lows either.

ErsatzNihilist Forum regular 5 Mar 20, I'm a big fan of Duelyst - that really is a superb game with a lot going for it, and the whole grid play thing differentiates it from the crowd - it also sucks me in because I'm really old and nostalgic for pixel artwork; the presentation and audio design are really strong in my eyes.

For me, it and Gwent are at the top of the pile, but both are so completely different from one another which is why I play both.

Once you start adding Online CCGs into my real-world cardboard addiction in the form of Fantasy Flight's Game of Thrones and the new Arkham Horror LCG, it's really hard for me to fit many more games like this in my life - and keep my job.

Coco Rookie 6 Mar 21, I have played Infinity Wars for quite a good amount of time, but few people knows what it is.

Pros: -You could trade cards with other players. Cons: -Slow development. Gwent has a really nice skill cap and a unique ways of playing.

Although, I feel the lack of deck variety makes it hard to keep playing on a long period of time. You kind of end up playing always against the same decks each patches and it becomes boring.

And, since the decks are made around the strenght of Golds and SIlvers, it is kind of hard to play a lot of different deck being a F2P.

But I know Gwent is in Beta and it will gain a lot with the upcoming testings. I am hoping to see metas of 8 different decks or more. Hearthstone , meanwhile, has a more casual game mode called Tavern Brawl.

From week to week the game mode opens from Wednesday through Monday with a different set of rules and deck criteria.

Sometimes players can bring their own decks, sometimes they are given a premade deck, and sometimes there are rule modifiers to force players to think outside the box.

Overall, it is intended to be a fun, easily accessible mode. Gwent , meanwhile, is only a step behind the leaders, standing one PvP mode shy of being tied with the top contenders.

Hearthstone has hosted co-op on occasion in the form of Tavern Brawls mentioned above. Players face off as they normally would in a PvP match, except instead of attacking each other they attack a massively overpowered minion that floats back and forth between the two sides.

On the other hand, Fable Fortune has a more robust co-op mode designed to be its main alternative to PvP.

While it is prone to the usual problems of playing with strangers, it is still a fun and challenging experience. Hearthstone has a casual co-op that occasionally pops up in Tavern Brawls, but Fable Fortune has a fully fleshed out co-op mode that is as fun as it is challenging.

In this day and age, any game with a PvP element is bound to spawn a competitive scene, and CCGs are no different. It is a vast scene, composed of an in-game ladder, amateur tournaments, and CD Projekt Red organized tournaments.

Masters participants are a mix of Challenger winners and Crown Point leaders, designed to bring the best players from around the world together.

Full details can be found at the official masters. CD Projekt Red goes out of their way to create sets that could be straight from the Witcher 3 , complete with actors playing fan favorite characters.

As of this writing, Gwent has already had three Open tournaments and two Challenger tournaments, with a plan for eight Opens and five Challengers per year.

Then we have Hearthstone , which operates in much the same way as Gwent : players compete in a series of smaller tournaments, including the Hearthstone Global Games , to be eligible in the big Worlds tournament.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is limited to smaller tournaments, but it is growing. Fable Fortunes does not yet have a professional scene.

Solo adventures have been on the rise in CCGs, giving players an alternative to PvP, and creating a fun environment where players can play with or against powerful new cards and modifiers.

Hearthstone and The Elder Scrolls: Legends are neck-in-neck on this one. The stories in both make heavy references to their respective main games, World of Warcraft and Skyrim, making them easy favorites for fans.

Hearthstone is like slavery compared to Gwent. Last year it took me less than 30 hours to get a tier 1 deck. CDPR made Gwent even more generous last month by giving out daily login bonus, so it should be a lot faster to get your first deck. Right now I've spent around hours playing Gwent and I almost have the whole card collection. Gwent is a better card game than Hearthstone. Ok, I know what you’re thinking: What the hell is a Gwent, and are you nuts? Let’s answer the first question first. Gwent is the collectible card game. “Elder Scrolls Legends”: Bethesda’s foray into the collectible card game is similar to “Hearthstone” but its key differences lie in a lane system and an emphasis on story-based content. The lane. HS vs Gwent: What you get in a month: Hearthstone: Every month you get 10g a day, so gold. You also get the dust at month end, which is about packs. One month of HS gets you packs. (I am excluding daily quests!!). Gwent: IN A SEASON for rank you get 47 packs, and 1, scrap ( kegs). A fast deck here and there is okay, but having it be the dominant playstyle on the ladder is not fun for people who enjoy playing their entire deck. Even many professional Hearthstone players are getting burnt out at this point. Gwent solves this by making the victory condition entirely different; you cannot blitz a win.

Nimm ein wirklich gute Konzept her. 6/27/ · In Hearthstone you chose one of nine heroes of Warcraft, each with a specific ability that differs from your opponent, whereas in Gwent you select one of 4 factions (5 with Blood & Wine expansion included). Gwent Vs Hearthstone I Aldi Süd Lotto see you point, But going around these games store pages, All I can see is people complaining about how:. In some metas I've hit 7 win average but only have ever played about 20 runs in a given month. But regardless of which mode I play, or which cards I play with, Hearthstone always feels incredibly Mey Herren. Once again, it stands entirely apart Paydirekt Casino the others. The answer is: Probably not. As a mostly f2p player when I played hearthstone I would almost instantly dust any gold card especially if I already had a deck limit of them. Honestly I don't think they know how to solve the 'common' problem they've created for themselves. I didn't think HS was this bad. As the first in the mainstream, Hearthstone has become something of a boilerplate Vier Richtige other developers to base their own card games on, changing a few names and strategies here and there. Search TL;DR for the short version. But the numbers don't make any sense and I can easily see how in the future with more expansions and more skew towards non-common cards, getting a reasonable collection Gwent Vs Hearthstone really time-consuming. I got nearly all of Ungoro from arena without paying a cent, but that took most Ich Hab Noch Nie Fragen Ab 18 App two of the three Spielbank Bad Kissingen that that was the current set, almost exclusively playing arena. HS has no restrictions on rarity. I feel like that last line might sound like an innuendo.
